Uncovering the Mysteries of Numerology

Numerology is an ancient science that has been used for centuries to help people understand themselves and their lives better. It is said that the great sage Pythagoras was the first to develop the principles of numerology, and many believe that he based his findings on the mathematical patterns found in nature. Numerology can be used to support us in all areas of our lives, from our health and relationships to our careers and finances.

The Lifepath Number

The first step in understanding numerology is to determine our Lifepath Number. The Lifepath Number is also called the Birth Number, Birth Force Number, Birth Path or Ruling Number. This is the most important number in numerology and it can be found by adding up all of the numbers in your birth date (the day, month, and year). For example, if you were born on April 5th, 1989, you would add up 4+5+1+9+8+9 to get 36. Then, you would reduce the number down to a single digit by adding 3+6=9. This is your lifepath number – 9.

The Lifepath Number is used in numerology for a deeper understanding of who you are and what kind of life you’re destined to live and what you were born to do. It helps find your soul’s calling, so to speak. Think of it as the number that tells you the path you’ve chosen to walk this lifetime and any lessons you’ve chosen to master during your life. As you fulfill your life calling this number tells you the actual experiences you’re likely to encounter.

Destiny Numbers

The next step is to calculate your Destiny Number. This is the second most important number in Western numberology. It has been called the Complete Name Number, the Name Number, the Purpose number and the Epression Number. To calculate your Destiny Number, use your full, orginal birth certificate name. This number is found by adding up all of the consonants in your full name. For example, the name “John Smith” would be calculated by adding up the letters J+H+N+S+M+T+H (1 + 8 + 5 + 19 + 13 + 20 = 66). Then, you would reduce this number down to a single digit by adding 6+6=12, and then 1+2=3. The Destiny Number for John Smith would be 3.

The Destiny Number can tell you all about your potential successes in life, what you’ll be most successful doing and speaks to those areas in your life that you want to focus on and develop in order to reach your fullest potential. When you are in the process of major career choices consider combining both the Destiny and Lifepath Numbers to guide you.

Soul Numbers

The Soul Number is significant because it reveals what motivates you. This number is also called the Soul’s Urge, Heart’s Desire Number or Heart’s Desire. It shows what you need to do in order to feel content and fulfilled. In other words, your Soul Number exposes what your heart desires and how to go about achieving those things in this life.

To calculate your Soul Number add up the vowels using your birth certificate name.

The chaos of day-to-day life can make it hard to hear your soul’s quiet whispers. This is why a regular practice of yoga, meditation, qigong, or simply spending time alone in nature is so important. They help you connect with your intuition which allows your soul’s voice to be heard more easily.

The Personality Number

The Personality Number is quite important and is one of the 7 Core Numbers in your chart. Indeed its impact not as significant as the Life Path, Destiny, and Soul Numbers but it’s important even so. Your Personality Number reveals the nature of the “outer you,” or the side of yourself you want to share with others.

The Personality Number is in charge of the image you project to others and how they perceive you, rather than reflecting your true nature. Usually, the stronger characteristics of an astrology sign will overshadow the traits of the Personality Number. So, don’t worry if you can’t relate to your Personality Number!

Master Numbers

Master Numbers are double-digit numbers that repeat the same number, for example: 11, 22, 33. Some Numerologist’s only take into account the 11 and 22 when working with your core numbers in your chart. Others include the 33. If you calculate your Lifepath Number and get an 11, 22 or 33 before digit down to 2 ,4 or 6 , this indicates a Master Number as part of your Lifepath Number.

Master Numbers can also appear in other parts of your numerology chart, like your Destiny/Expression Number, Soul Urge Number, Maturity Number and Personality Number. If you come across Master Numbers in any part of your chart, it’s worth investigating what they mean for you specifically.

Here’s an example of a Master Number showing up as a Lifepath number:

Birth date: February 2, 1987

February = 2

Day = 2

Year = 1987; 1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 25; keep adding 2 + 5 = 7

Add the Month, Day, Year: 2 + 2 + 7 = 11

11 is a Master Number.

Your Master Number reveals many things about who you are and how you interact with the world. It can help you understand your life path and the gifts that you bring to this world. Keep in mind, though, that this number is only one piece of the puzzle. Your Master Number should be used as a guide, not an absolute truth.
