What You Want to Know: The Conscious, Unconscious and Super Conscious Mind

The Conscious, Unconscious and Super Conscious Mind

This week we explore the subject of consciousness. In order to do this, we have to explore the three faces of consciousness: the conscious mind, the sub-conscious mind, and the super-conscious mind.  Each level of the mind is linked and serves to give you insights into our environment and our selves. We will look at how each of these concepts works together to create our reality and provide us with the knowledge to create a happier, more peaceful and confident self.

The Conscious Mind: Computer-like Function

The conscious mind can be thought of as the computer-like function of the mind. The consciousness mind plays a unique role: it keeps us safe. We explore its boundaries and how it benefits us. We’ll talk about how it works in conjunction with the other two functions of the mind to make us aware of insights and information that come to us in subtle, barely noticeable messages.

When discussing the power of the conscious mind, E. Stanley Jones once said, “The conscious mind determines the actions, the unconscious mind determines the reactions; and the reactions are just as important as the actions.”

To most people, it is our conscious mind that determines who we are. However, in reality, our conscious mind is just a small portion of who we actually are. It is a very small part of how the three functions of our mind enable us to communicate with the universe.

Just because our conscious mind is easily accessible, it is not the instrument that completely determines who we are, what we do, and why we do it. It is merely the vehicle that allows us to easily communicate through speech, pictures, writing, physical actions and a shallow form of thought.

Our conscious mind is our objective mind. It has no memory and it can only hold one thought at a time. It functions to identify incoming information using our senses; sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, and feeling. Our conscious mind is continually observing and categorizing (sometimes correctly and sometimes incorrectly) what is going on around us. It is the part of our mind that can’t be fully trusted. It is continually sorting impressions and consequently deciding which are relevant and which are not. It is often influenced by past actions and previously wrong decisions. It is like a binary computer. It accepts or rejects things in a simple “yes” or “no” manner in order to make a decision. It deals with one thought at a time: positive or negative, yes or no.

The benefit of this kind of thinking is to preserve our lives. It enables us to make a “go, no go” decision quickly. Our subconscious on the other hand is like a huge memory bank. Its capacity is virtually unlimited and permanently stores everything that ever happens to us. We will cover how these two functions of our mind work together next time we meet. For now, just know that we rely on each of our mental mechanisms and that all three must be functioning in order for us to be complete.

The Subconscious Mind at the Helm

Let’s talk now about the sub-conscious mind, the role it plays in our lives and its connection to intuition.

In exploring the level that exists just below that of our conscious awareness, we come to the subconscious mind. It is the part of our mind that records everything we do—every activity we engage in, every thought we have about those activities, and the likes and dislikes we encounter each day. It is the part of our minds we are familiar with when we sleep, dream, and behave according to beliefs of which we are not aware.

Although nothing is forgotten by the subconscious mind, this part of our consciousness remains hidden from our everyday awareness. However, that does not exclude it from having influence over how we think and act in our conscious state.

In other words, the subconscious influences much of what we do each day, but those influences are from past actions and the habits we have created from them. This means the ideas drawn from the subconscious are not going to be new and creative.

It is our subconscious mind that provides meaning to all our interactions with the world—meaning as it is filtered through your beliefs and habits. It communicates information through our feelings, emotions, imagination, sensations, and dreams. Our current understanding of consciousness is rigid . . . . and fails to give recognition to the conscious experiences outside the definition of normal. Such experiences are considered fake, abnormal, or unnatural. Normal consciousness is earthbound and is only normal in the sense that is it well known; you are aware of something on the outside as well as some specific mental functions happening on the inside.

It is important to know that our subconscious mind can’t move outside its fixed programs – it reacts automatically to situations using previously stored behavior responses. It works without the knowledge or control of the conscious mind. This is why we are often unaware of our behavior.

Studies from as far back as the seventies show that our brains begin to prepare for action just over a third of a second before we consciously decide to act. In other words, even when we ‘think’ we are conscious, it’s our sub-conscious mind that is actually making decisions for us.

The Super-conscious Mind & the Land Beyond, Beyond

Arrives the Super-conscious Mind! This ever-exhilarating but complex super-consciousness is a level all its own. This is third level of the mind also guides us and through which we can control our lives. Let’s tackle this exceptional mind space, aka, the super-conscious mind.

While the conscious and sub-conscious minds are familiar to us, the super-conscious mind remains unknown and mysterious. It is the hidden spiritual system behind intuition, spirituality, and physical and spiritual healing. It is the problem solving part of us and allows us to feel such things as joy, excitement, and empathy. The work of our super-conscious mind is often overlooked when we aspire to live a richer, more meaningful life.

While we are familiar with the fleeting moments of raised consciousness, few know the technique for purposely entering the exalted state of super-consciousness. Super-consciousness is the state reachable only through meditation, chanting, affirmation, and prayers specifically designed to lead us into a state of super-consciousness. It is our super-consciousness that makes possible human achievements of greatness . . . and the elevation of the human spirit.

The idea of a higher consciousness is rooted in the notion of reaching a higher self that transcends reality. It is the essence of human existence that makes us capable of going beyond the confines of the physical world and the trappings of logic.

#StarTrek Wraps It Up!

We have covered at length now all three states of being. To wrap up with a simple illustration of how important each state of consciousness is, I’d like to refer you to a popular Star Trek: Generations episode, “Loud as a Whisper.”

It is an episode in which a deaf mediator is enlisted to solve a planetary dispute. He cannot speak, but has a chorus of three personalities that exist within him and speak aloud for him. One is logic and judgment, the second, passion and romance, the third—like the super-conscious—is that which binds all three together. It is harmony, wisdom, and balance. While the analogy is not exact, the episode gives us an idea of how our three minds interact—each mind serving a purpose with the super-conscious serving to combine all three to create a higher form of existence.

About Being Psychic

As a psychic or intuitive, everything begins with feelings and occurrences you know are more than mere coincidence—strange and undeniable knowings you find impossible to ignore. Psychic medium explains that you may have experienced a strong urge to call a relative, only to find out that you were needed at that very moment. Experiences like these happen more often to you than to others. During those times, acting on those feelings or urges—not logic—produces positive results. There may be times you suspect there is something beyond what’s called reality, something residing in the world of the paranormal.

Understanding Psychic Connection

It is said that psychic connections are made when a person picks up information in an uncommon way or from an unusual source. Psychic connections are said to be in play when a person acquires knowledge he or she could not have known—information emanating from a source outside of individual understanding, separate from any previous experiences or prior knowledge. While there is no scientific proof that these occurrences are psychic in nature, science has yet to explain them. Any psychic will attest that the proof is in the pudding. He or she has seen it and knows that such information comes directly from the universal mind, the higher self, and/or vibrations sent by other souls— the universal matrix. Psychics believe paranormal principles are the explanation.

I’m Psychic. How Do I Tune In and Begin Receiving Messages?

Tuning into higher sources of information begins when individuals aggressively direct their focus on becoming aware of themselves and the world around them. Every day they engage in the paranormal practice of communicating with a higher realm of consciousness, but they are just not aware of doing so. Once you purposely make it a point to become aware, you will begin to find something else is at work. If you take time to analyze events nonchalantly referred to as coincidences, hunches, urges, or that inner voice, you will come to realize there is more to know about reality. It is even possible you may discover or become aware of the psychic strengths you tend to have. Pay attention to all your hunches, urges, and coincidences, and see if there are deeper messages and/or meanings.

Psychic Development Comes in Many Forms: Investigate, Read, Learn and Grow!

Numerous techniques exist by which a person can investigate these mysteries. The investigations center entirely on different psychic practices and specialties psychics pursue. A majority of individuals believe intuition gives us the same information that comes from logical evaluation, personal experience, learned knowledge, and educated conclusions. However, psychics believe that they not only have access to information intuition provides, but that they have the benefit of information that has been passed down from the universe for millennia. They believe information is accessible at the behest of the universal mind and often available through a connection with deceased souls residing in a different reality. Psychics tune into higher sources from outside the human intellect, beyond intuition and learning.

A Powerful Technique to Access Your Psychic Ability

Upside-Down Drawing to Dispel Mind Chatter

It’s so natural for our left brain to be in charge that we often can’t even stop it. This exercise will give your creative and intuitive right brain a chance to take over for a bit. When you look at a photo right side up, you give it dimension and order. You see the top, bottom, sides, etc. It makes sense to your left brain. But if you look at that same picture upside down, suddenly it’s chaos. Your brain can’t make as clear sense of it. This is even more pronounced when you try to draw it upside down. Herein lies the doorway to opening up your right brain. Follow these few steps and you’ll begin to nourish this remarkable and largely untouched side of who you are. For a more in depth discussion on the intricacies of the right and left brain as it relates to drawing, I highly recommend Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards.

  1. Find a picture of a person you want to draw.
  2. Be in a quite space with 30 minutes of uninterrupted time where you can draw comfortably.
  3. Turn the picture upside down and beginning drawing it on your clean sheet of paper. Start exactly where you feel drawn to. There is no right or wrong place to begin. Don’t try to figure out what you are drawing, just draw what is before you. It’s imperative that you don’t turn the picture right side up—for obvious reasons, you will shift right back to the left brain and waken it.
  4. You might consider, objectifying data, which means to talk out loud as you draw, thereby helping to deepen the connection to your right brain.
  5. You may want to cover what you are drawing with another piece of paper and then gradually reveal more of it as you draw. When I learned this technique I found it to be incredibly helpful. In this way, the picture I was drawing was not so overwhelming; it seemed manageable to draw it piece by piece, slowly making my way down my drawing.

Trying using the image of Abraham Lincoln as your first upside-down drawing exercise!

Once you purposely make it a point to become aware and open to your psychic abilities, you will begin to find something else is at work. If you take time to analyze events nonchalantly referred to as coincidences, hunches, urges, or that inner voice, you will come to realize there is more to know about reality. It is even possible you may discover or become aware of the psychic strengths you tend to have.

Remember, pay attention to all your hunches, urges, and coincidences, and see if there are deeper messages and/or meanings. In order to stretch your mind’s ability to glean more, listen to them.

I Want to Develop My Psychic Ability. What’s Next?

Psychic Development and The Value of Dreams

Sigmund Freud called dreaming “the royal road to the unconscious.” As you take on the challenge of becoming a psychic, you will learn the importance of dreams and the valuable messages they
carry.

Dreams have an unfathomable ability to deliver profound messages, spiritual insights, and guidance, unlike other avenues of mental access. To make the most of what you are learning, take note of every new feeling and emotion immediately after a dream; you may wish to revisit them later.

Consider, with clarity of thought, the meanings and ideas your dreams are suggesting. Dreams are an additional path leading to spiritual growth. They are proof that your perceptive abilities and powers of discernment are increasing. Your dreams will take different forms; they may be prophetic in nature, with stronger than usual impact. Some of your dreams may involve interchanges between you and a loved one who has passed. They can act as an avenue to provide an easy, relaxed space for such encounters to occur. Each form of a dream is a message. Dreams prove there are few limitations to what we can comprehend through the psychic influences of the subconscious mind. Every opportunity to dream allows your astral body to leave the constraints of this conscious
world and enter higher vibrations and dimensions—dimensions where all existence is limitless and timeless.

Psychic Functioning: Why Do We Dream?

We dream because we need to. Dreams are part of our physiological and psychological makeup and are necessary to our mental and physical well-being. Humans cannot replenish their bodies or maintain their mental faculties without reaching the magical state of rapid eye movement (R.E.M.) sleep—the level that allows us to dream.

Dreaming signals the proper release of chemicals and hormones our bodies need. If sleep weren’t essential for us, we would have evolved beyond the need to dream long ago.

Dreams are a vehicle to help us align our emotional selves. We are able to act out unpleasant experiences, find the reasons for them, and soften their affects. Dreams also help us to problem-solve. We’ve all heard the phrase, “I need to sleep on it.” Somehow, when our minds relax to sleep and dream, we wake with solutions we were unable to imagine without the benefit of sleep. That is why it is a good idea to keep a pen and paper by your bed, so you can record solutions before they are forgotten.

Paul McCartney came up with the words to the Beatles hit song Yesterday while in a dream state. Albert Einstein captured the theory of relativity while in a dream state. The inspiration behind the creation of the sewing machine came from a dream. So the dream state is a way to solve problems, as well as a schoolroom for great ideas, innovations, and inspiration!

Accessing Your Psychic Ability: Four Steps for Interpreting Dreams

  1. Pay attention to the feelings you get in your dreams. Feelings are an indication that something is important, dangerous, or worthy, and they are an emotional link to persons, places, or events in the dream. Take time to make any relevant and necessary connections; they are messages. As you become more in tune with your dream space, you will want to expand your investigation of dreams and your connection to them.
  2. Trust that dreams have meaning. Ask yourself, how does this dream pertain to me or have meaning to my conscious life? Trust that knowing the implications of a dream may take time. The delivery of dream messages is transcendent, and over time, the meaning will come. Those who make it a point to study their dreams often keep a dream journal they can refer to later, when an insight about a particular dream eventually presents itself. Keeping a journal ensures that every detail about a dream has been recorded, making it possible to associate those details with the essence of its possible message. That way, no point is forgotten.
  3. Know that dreams have applications to the past, present, and future. Dream messages aren’t always about what is currently happening in your life or the lives of those you know. They can bring messages that warn of past behaviors, give meaning to past events, or point out the importance of past activities. They can also be prophetic in nature. Much can be learned through information made available by dreams; it should not be ignored.
  4. Look for the relevancy of a dream. Question the information in your dreams, and search out what is most useful and valuable. Question whether any connection can be made to other events in your life or the lives of others. Dreams are not just random thoughts or ruminations. They are transmissions from the universal matrix. Important things happening in your waking life can instigate a dream. Matters in your waking life are often crying out for answers and explanations. Dreams often have those answers.

Additional Psychic Development Tips to Enhance Your Learning

  • Tune into the feelings of your dream, and other insights will come.
  • Give your dreams the level of importance they deserve.
  • Create your own dream dictionary or book of symbols.
  • Remember: you are the best person to interpret your dreams.
  • Trust that dreams serve to enrich your life.

Remember: your dreams are a valuable and rich source of guidance and information. The depth of your spiritual connection to all that exists in this world and the world beyond is expanded through dreaming.

As a Budding Psychic, Create a Book of Symbols

The best person to interpret your dreams is you. Years ago, people would consult a dream encyclopedia, manual, or dictionary in which everything that could happen in a dream was cataloged, along with a corresponding interpretation. While the attempt at this type of dream interpretation was honest, the application was so general that it was impractical and irrelevant to the seeker. The best way to get a handle on knowing whether incidences—recurring or not—have a particular meaning is to create a book of symbols pertinent to only you.

First, make it a point to have a journal or notepad nearby before you go to bed. Second, pay close attention to any images that stand out in your dream, and immediately, upon waking, jot them down. Pay attention to colors, sounds, the setting, objects such as a car, house, or water, and even other people. Most importantly, be mindful of any emotions that present in your dream. Often it is the last dream before you awaken that will be the most meaningful for you. Lastly, connect any of those images, happenings, or ideas to your waking life that appear to be strongly associated. These associations will be apparent each time a dream experience occurs. Your book of symbols will be an accumulation of documented information and will serve as your reference for interpretations.

Guidance from Spirit Guides

We all have moments in our life when we need a little help. Sometimes guidance comes from loved ones, both alive and those who have crossed over, but we can also find support and advice from our spirit guides. These guides are our friends when we need companionship, our mentors when we need guidance, and our guardians when we’re in situations where we need help. Some of these guides are with us always, while others only accompany us temporarily or when we’re in specific situations. Each can manifest as male or female, and appear differently for each person.

Best Friend Guides

Our closest of these allies are described as “best friend” guides. They are with you most often, aiding during times of stress, providing comfort, helping you make choices and reminding you to laugh and enjoy life. They have a deep understanding of what you’re dealing with.

Scholar or Wisdom Guides

When we need to teach, study, learn, or educate we find ourselves in the company of our “wisdom” or “scholar” guide. Always with insight, knowledge, and advice that you can trust completely, this guide is your mentor in all things intellectual.

Body Balance Guide

The “body balance” guide is there to nudge you toward choices that are good for your body. This guide is a close ally to healers and energy workers, but is more a voice of reason dealing with fitness, medical care and diet.

Guardian Guide

We sometimes find ourselves in dangerous or unhealthy situations. This is where the “guardian” guide comes in. They are our spirit warriors and protectors, delivering messages of warning. Call on them when you are afraid, and they will defend you.

Developing a relationship with our spirit guides is rewarding, and while we all have the knowledge inside of ourselves to know what is right for us, it can be of great comfort to know that we’re never alone.

Psychic Medium Teaches You All About Spirit Guides and How to Initiate Connection

psychic medium

Fundamentals of Psychic Development: What Are Spirit Guides?

Connecting with your spirit guide is a relatively simple process but one that can confuse those who are new to meditation and spirituality. As a psychic medium let’s go over some ways you can connect to your spirit guide quickly and easily as well as how to communicate with them more clearly. By learning about your spirit guides, you can work with them in psychic abilities training to increase and open your abilities.

Spirit guides are entities designed to help and advise you on this physical plain of existence. Your guides—everyone has more than one—were given to you before you were made flesh. They are non corporeal beings, assigned by the universal mind to travel alongside you while you exist on this earth. They are responsible for helping you navigate your way through life, expand your realization of your higher self, and make your journey easier. Spirit guides advise, nudge, comfort, and of course, guide. Their purpose is not to do things for you or make your decisions; they are there just to guide and inform. They are kindly entities, specifically concerned with your good—nothing more.

There are spirits of the departed, like loved ones who have passed on, engaged in helping and guiding, but they are not spirit guides. Spirit guides are different and should not to be confused with guardian angels or angels of any kind. The best explanation for spirit guides is to say they are entities, composed of energy, which do not have substance and which are often directed to aid your higher self.

Spirit guides are uniquely able to help where intuition is not. This is because spirit guides know all that has been and is now going on in your life. They are entities that may or may not work in concert with other guides on your behalf. They may appear to have male or female characteristics, but they are neither male nor female. Those characteristics are there to aid your human understanding and to give you something with which you can easily identify.

As I Develop My Psychic Abilities How Can Communicate With My Spirit Guides?

Spirit guides also communicate in a unique way. They come across through thoughts—strong thoughts. They send messages in the same way messages are sent to Spirit Interactors (mediums). Know that their connection with humans is always gentle. You should think about it as receiving a message unlike intuition or mental insight. It is stronger and more directed than that. The best way to think of spirit guide connections is to think of them as concerned messages with direction.

Spirit guide relationships are also unique. They are relationships you should cultivate as any other meaningful and important relationship requiring nurturing and caring. A spirit guide relationship needs the same level of commitment and time any significant relationship requires. The more time and attention you give to cultivating open lines of communication with your guide, the stronger your relationship will become.

In Your Psychic Development Learn About the Types of Spirit Guides

Best Friend Guide

Your best friend guide will be your main guide. It will be the one with whom you will spend most of your time and have most of your interaction. This guide is similar to a friend. It behaves like a
companion, bringing comfort, laughter, and joy. It is around to remind you to handle situations with kindness and diplomacy. It is there to remind you to take a breath when things go wrong and to be patient with things difficult to change. This guide advises when choices involve your happiness. It is believed that this guide has lived a human life; because of this, it understands all you are experiencing and what the outcomes of decisions may be.

If you need a little boost to balance your day or to reignite your clarity of thought, your best friend guide is the one to help. If you find yourself a bit down about, expect your best friend guide to appear and prompt you to rethink your situation. It will remind you to laugh.

Remember: your best friend guide is always present.

Guardian Guide

The job of your guardian guide is to keep you aware, forewarned, and safe. This guide often comes with messages of caution and warning. Think of the guardian guide as your chief protector. If you have a feeling cautioning you, it is probably your guardian guide, instructing you to be careful.

Wisdom or Scholar Guide

The wisdom or scholar guide is the teacher. If it were a being living on earth, it might take on the form of a wise old man with profound insights. It might be an individual with incomparable wisdom, whom you would find easy to trust. If you have questions about learning, education, or philosophy, this is the guide who will assist you. It is the spiritual guru, versed in education and learning.

Body-Balance Guide

We have only one physical body, and it is sacred. The body-balance guide is concerned with your health and wellness—your diet, exercise, and medical care. If you hear a voice advising, “That is not a good choice for your body,” listen. It is your body- balance guide giving you a nudge.

Short Term Guides

It is possible to ask the universe for short-term guides to help you. These are guides with a particular skill or information. If you are writing a book, then you may want to call on a guide skilled in that area. If you are preparing for a test, you may need a guide with expertise in that particular field of study.

How to Make Initial Contact with Your Spirit Guide

  1. To establish first contact with your spirit guide, find a quiet area and sit in a relaxed position. This is necessary to achieve the meditative state where you and your spirit guide will meet for the first time.
  2. At this point you’ll state a prayer to invite your spirit guide to contact you. An example would be something along the lines of “Spirit guide I invite you into my space. I would like to establish a dialog of open, clear communication with you.”
  3. Once you’ve sent the invitation you must listen and trust your spirit guide to contact you. Remember, you must be patient. This is a high vibrational relationship and communication may not be clear at first. The key is to not try too hard and let messages and guidance come naturally.

Your Spirit Guide’s Name

I’m often times asked by my clients how I can know my spirit guide’s name. To know your spirit guide’s name simply ask them during mediation and trust the first name that comes. Keep in mind that knowing your spirit guide’s name is not always of importance and some people communicate with their guide their whole life without knowing their name.

Learn More with Psychic Development Training

All kinds of spirit guides, as helpful as they are, can’t and won’t make decisions for you. They’re available only to assist you. There is a conundrum about the effectiveness of guides. Because we have a deep, intuitive knowledge about what is right for us and what is right to do, we don’t always need a voice outside of ourselves—spirits, spirit guides, or anyone else—telling us what to do. But because human beings tend not to obey those things they know to be right, other entities often need to intervene to reinforce the necessity for doing what is right. Insecurity over a decision may not be valid. Dig deep within, and the choice will always be clear. Just remember to make choices that meld with your own goals and needs—not the goals and needs of others. The good news is that if you think you need the advice of a guide, you can have one whenever you choose.

What Are Your Clairabilities?

Clairabilities are your connection to your higher self, your sixth sense, and the Spirit World. Our 7 Clairabilities use all of your senses:

  • Taste
  • Touch
  • Smell
  • Hear
  • Sight

Through your senses, you open the door to the intuitive psychic you already are! Using your Clairabilities helps you become stronger in your ability to connect psychically with the world around you.

What Are Your Clairabilities?

In learning about your Clairabilities, I teach you how to take your physical senses to a higher level spiritually. I call this “heightened sensing.”

We each have 7 Clairabilities, which are:

  1. Clairvoyance – Clear seeing
  2. Claircognizance – Clear knowing
  3. Clairaudience – Clear hearing
  4. Clairsentience – Clear feeling
  5. Clairkinesthesia – Clear touching
  6. Clairgustance – Clear tasting
  7. Clairolfactory – Clear smelling

What is the Clairvoyance – Clear Seeing Clairability?

Clairvoyance is your ability to connect with your inner third eye. Through Clairvoyance, you receive images and pictures that leave psychic imprints for interpretation.

If you have ever daydreamed before, then you have experienced what it is like to use your Clairvoyance. You can practice increasing your Clairvoyance through the use of simple visualizations. Pick something that is in the room you are in now. Then close your eyes and imagine that same item in your inner vision. Notice the details of it, including color, texture, shading, and shape.

Here’s a fun exercise you can use to connect to your Clairvoyance:

1. Find a deck of cards you feel drawn to.

2. Start with the intention to build your skill and ability to tune and heighten your senses.

3. Draw three cards.

4. Try to guess the suit of these cards only.

5. Do this several times.

6. Notice how you do in your guesses. Resist the temptation to “get it right.” Let go of the outcome. If you are too attached to “getting it right,” this comes from ego and puts blockages in your ability to grow. When you accept what comes to you, then you are able to tune in and expand your ability to use this sense.

7. Pay attention to how it feels when you are accurate. Being conscious of this feeling, increases your ability.

What is the Claircognizance – Clear Knowing Clairability?

Claircognizance is your ability to know things. You may just know about someone or something without being told anything or having researched any information.

This ability is in the Crown Chakra and is the color violet. Put your focus there and imagine this Chakra spinning with aliveness. Notice what you feel as you tune into this ability. As you do, you are communicating to your Higher Self that you are ready to open your ability in this area.

Here’s a fun exercise you can use to connect to your Claircognizance:

1. Get a notebook or a few sheets of paper.

2. Ask a question you want to ask the Universe out loud.

3. Start writing. Write whatever comes to you. It may also come in the form of a picture. Try not to dwell on what you receive, just write.

4. Do this three times on three different sheets of paper.

What is the Clairaudience – Clear Hearing Clairability?

Clairaudience is your ability to hear things, found in your fifth Chakra, the Throat Chakra.

Be aware of your Throat Chakra and tune into the color blue, seeing it spinning beautifully alive. As you do, know that it is opening for you.

Here’s a fun exercise you can use to connect to your Clairaudience:

1. Take a moment to put your focus on your ears. Imagine them growing bigger in size.

2. Notice how they feel and what you see.

3. Try to imagine them pulsing and as if they have their own breath.

4. Breathe deeply and notice them. Pay attention throughout your day that you may notice sounds you have never heard.

5. Write down what you notice from your heightened ability.

What is the Clairsentience – Clear Feeling Clairability?

Your Clairsentience means to feel. It is in your second Chakra, your Sacral Chakra. It is orange in color. Take a moment to put your focus there and see it spinning vibrantly.

Here’s a fun exercise you can use to connect to your Clairsentience:

I created a book of body codes to interpret what the feelings in my body represent during readings. For instance, I may feel a sensation of poking on my left temple area. I then know this has a precise meaning for the client.

You can develop a book of body codes for yourself:

1. Meditate daily on how to increase this and all Clairabilities. Ask your Spirit Guides and Higher Self to work with you to create your book of body codes.

2. Write down sensations you feel at any time of the day when you feel they are psychically connected to you or others.

3. Keep a journal of what you notice.

It is possible for you to increase your Clairabilities. I go more in depth into your Clairabilities with information, fun games and exercises, and more in my newly published book, Take the Leap: What It Really Means to Be Psychic. Order your copy now.

The Power of Your Breathing

Atem is the German word for breathing. It is derived from Sanskrit word “ayāma,” meaning to extend or draw out. The breath is formless. Meaning, it is not an object, has no shape, nor is it tangible. This is why being aware of how you breathe is one of the best ways to bring space into your life.

Breathing is often said to be one of the most subtle and seemingly insignificant phenomena. It was Nietzsche who remarked it is the ‘least thing’ that makes up the ‘best happiness.’

Being aware of how you breathe propels you into the present moment and it is the doorway to inner transformation. Why? Because when you are conscious of how you breathe, you become present and are led to higher consciousness.

It isn’t possible to think and be fully aware of and present with your breathing. Try it now. You will see that conscious breathing stops the mind but not to the extent that you are moved into a daze, but rather to a heightened alertness.

Giving attention to your breathing, even if only for a few seconds, creates gaps of space – pockets of peace of mind where incessant thinking ceases to be. In time, the gaps increase on their own and we discover inner space more consistently.

Be aware of your breathing right now. Can you feel the sensation of your breath? Feel the air moving in and out of your lungs and body. Notice how your chest rises and falls with each breath.

Just one conscious breath – a breath taken with mindfulness – is enough to make space, when in moments before, there was relentless mind chatter and thought, one after the other after the other. Breathing brings this to a standstill. A few conscious breaths at various moments in your day will bring space into your life. It replaces thinking.

Breathing occurs naturally and gracefully and should not feel like work. The deeper intelligence in the body is the driving force. All you have to do, as you become more aware of it, is to watch it happen. Notice the gentle pause as your out-breath moves to its end, just prior to taking a breath inward again.

Many of us unknowingly have very shallow breath. This is not our natural way of breathing. The more you are aware of your breathing, you begin to re-establish your breathing at a natural depth and full expansion.

Try this to find stillness:

  1. When you notice you are constantly thinking, feeling rushed, anger, tension, grief, or even a compulsive need (smoking, drinking, TV watching, over eating) of some kind, simply stop and take three breaths. This instantly generates presence and awareness. Can you feel the subtle sense of aliveness rush through your entire body as you do this?
  2. Then, for a few minutes, be aware of the low vibration emotion itself (or compulsive urge) as an energy field inside you. Consciously feel that emotion or the compulsive need to physically or mentally take part in the compulsive behavior. Be an observer of it, watch it. Seeing it as separate from you releases its power over you as you come to realize it is not you.
  3. Then take a few more conscious breaths. You may feel the emotion or compulsive urge disappear. You might feel the emotion is still there and you can’t help but feel it. This is okay. Don’t make it into a problem. Rather, make the emotion a part of your awareness and practice observing it as mentioned above.  As awareness of the emotion grows and as you see it as not you, but separate from you, in time it will weaken and disappear.

Most people are so distracted by their thoughts they can no longer feel the aliveness that their breathing brings. So then, the bridge delivering them to their innate wellbeing escapes them. Whenever you can, whenever it comes to mind in your day, center on your breathing. It is more spiritually transformative than any book, course, coaching or learning of any kind. And, the expense is nil, save for a few priceless moments of time.
